Panama City - Saltwater Fishing Report
Over the next few days that winds are going to howl. I'll be fishing, changing the plan to go with the winds. That's the good thing about fishing with a local, we have lot's of places to go even on the days when the wind is howling.
Saturday looks like a bad day to fish but would be a good day to get ready for spring break which starts next week. The spanish are now in full force, cobia just behing and the bite in the pass is good. Trout are moving out to the flats and the reds can be found nudging around the banks up in the bay and bayous.
Take a little time this weekend and make sure your epuipment is ready to go. Re-spool old line, inventory weights, swivels and terminal tackle and make sure the boats in order. Last, but most important to me, make sure your reels are well oiled and clean. Put some good grease or oil, never WD40, on the moving parts of your reels. I like to use any good gun oil because it seems to last longer and is a little slicker.
Take a few minutes to get ready this weekend.
We caught a lot of reds this month, monster after monster. Don't let anyone fool you, it's not as easy as you would think. A competant guide can show you the way. Take another look at what March 2009.
Don't forget the cat daddy of the winter. Over 50lbs.
