Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report
Quick report
My son is back from FSU for Christmas break, so what better way to spend it with my boy but doing a little fishing. Took him out today to do some bull red fishing. Believe it or not he's not been bull red fishing before. It's crazy, but true. Over the past 15 years living here our schedules just didn't mesh, with my work, his school, we just never got out there, but maybe it was well worth the wait.
Now we have fished together over the years, in the summer / spring and fall some for trout and slot redfish, along with Spanish, blues, and pretty much whatever. We just didn't get a chance to go after the big bulls.
I was bitten by the fishing bug early on in my own life, and would try to get out as often as possible. Nick doesn't have the bug quite as bad as his old man, but maybe because he has never been an early riser, however when he does come along with me we always have a great time. Today was no exception.
The weather was perfect, with slick calm water, 62 degrees and bulls everywhere. He told me that he had a blast and that he would love to do it again before he heads back to Seminole Nation for next semester. So hopefully we can. I've got a few trips, but if I can get him out you can bet I'll have him bowed up enjoying some fun December Pensacola Fishing.
Just thought I would share this with everyone.
He turns 21 next week, and I am surprised how quickly the time has flown by.
They don't stay young forever and it's been an adjustment not having him around a lot over the past three years while he's at FSU.
Take advantage of every minute you can spend with your kids, because those are the moments that memories are made of.

Another memory made.
Here's the quick report:
December has been off the charts with the bulls. Not only have the big reds been on fire, but so have the trout and slot redfish on the flats in the upper bay areas. I've only been out on the flats a few times, because most of my clients want to feel the pull of the bigger reds. Can you blame them?
It's some crazy-awesome-fantastic-fun action fishing! The past few days have been perfect sunny skies and flat calm seas.
