Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fishing Pensacola Bay and Choctawhatchee Bay with Captain Eddie Woodall and Full Net Fishing Charters
Christmas is just a few days away, the weather is just as crazy as it gets and the Bull REDS are still running!!
On Friday, 12/08/06, we recorded record low temperatures- in the low twenties with the wind blowing out of the north at 20 to 30 knots. I had three friends of mine here from northeast Atlanta and we went fishing for the Reds, and found them!! We caught 7 in about 4 hours- we had a blast! You know, it’s not real easy to cast and reel when you have on so many clothes that you can hardly move. Well, it’s not all bad, as history has proved over and over again, once these fronts settle down the fishing gets fantastic, so January should be off the charts!!! These fronts cause the bait to ball up into tight wads, the tighter the bait balls get the tighter the schools of Bull Reds get and the easier they are to find.
I got to take a couple of special guests fishing this month. First, on the 11th and 12th I took
Benny Hull, the producer and host of Stump Bumper Outdoors Productions- this is the third time he has been down to film for his fishing shows that air in north Georgia and the Chattanooga Tennessee area. His TV shows air on Comcast cable 46, Sun. 8:00pm, Wed. 7:30pm Fri. 11:30am and Sat. 7:30am. Then it also airs on the local TV channel WB 53 Sat. 2:00am and Sat. 6:30am. Look for these exciting shows on the Emerald Coast to air soon. Then on the 14th, I got to fish with Matthew Ledbetter, who is a life long friend and the southeast sales representatives for SPRO & Gamakatsu. He was impressed with how well the SPRO bucktail jigs did catching the Bull Reds. But, the exciting part for me was the new lure he brought to test on the Reds. The Swimbait BBZ-1 is as close to a life like swimming fish as I have ever seen!! The Red Fish loved it, too. Matthew was giving me a little history on the bait, as it has been tested in south Florida a whole lot more than here. And this thing is catching just about everything that swims!!!

Man, I am so lucky to call this beautiful place home. A little Paradise on the Emerald Green waters of the Gulf of Mexico. If you see me on the water drop by and say hello!
I know one thing for sure - You ain’t going to catch’em sittin’ on the couch!!
So get out there, and take a kid fishing.
Tight Lines and Screaming Drags, Till Next Time! God Bless.
