Spring Break Fishing is about to kick off - Pensacola Fishing

Pensacola - Saltwater Fishing Report

Pensacola Fishing Report 2-23-2015
The inshore bite has been great the past few weeks for trout and slot redfish in the upper bay areas but not everywhere. The fish are staged in drop offs from 3-6 ft and in some places 10 – 18 ft. depending upon where you're fishing.
When fishing the shallow 3- 8 ft areas try the Paul Brown or a ZMan PaddlerZ with a 1/4 oz jig head. Trust me, with these two lures in your tackle box you can't go wrong. Bob Sikes Bridge is producing some sheepshead along with some nice slot reds, and so is 3-Mile Bridge. Pensacola Pass on the jetties is starting to show signs of life with a few sheepies being caught but it's really still very early for the big ones to show up, and the really good sheepshead bite won't kick off till around March 3rd to March 7th.

This is my second year with my Triton 240 LTS and I'm so glad I have this boat. This thing is a fishing machine especially with the new electronics, including the Humminbird 999ci HD SI; fish can't hide or at least not very well. I also put on a new 8' Power-Pole Blade for shallow water anchoring. I didn't want 10ft because I really never fish deeper than 6 –7 ft for trout and when I do I can use the Minn Kota I-Pilot to hold position, plus I felt that the longer Power-Pole would get in the way of me and my clients fishing. The boat is a sleek, comfortable, and dry ride, and the Mercury 250 Verado simply purrs, and is also one of the most advanced engines on the market.

I'm excited about the new Spring Break season and I hope you are too. If you're heading down this way give me a shout and we'll jump aboard the new Triton and have some fun inshore fishing.
