Hot trout bite before cold front

Capt. Gary Clark
February 2, 2009
Pine Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

Today I am fishing with Greg Erwin, we are fishing potholes in south Pine Island Sound for trout. The last few weeks have been a steady dose of extra low tides early with a lower than average high. We are using soft baits and suspending plugs. In January the weather dishes out one or two days with light south winds. If you can get out these are always the best days. We caught 25 plus trout from 2-3 lbs. these fish know they have cold and windy days coming.
Tight Lines

Pine Island Sound Fishing Forecast:

This week we have back to back cold fronts with lows in the lower 30s on thursday. This will keep us in a winter pattern for now. We should get a break by Friday or Saturday.

Target Species:

Seatrout
