Mother Nature was Nice

Capt. Cliff Simer
April 4, 2011
Pine Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

After a couple days of 20-30 mph winds last week Mother nature gave us a great day Thursday. Fishing was pretty slow the first hour until the incoming tide started moving in. We had a couple trout up to 18 inches and a spanish mackeral in the live well. With help from Capt. Bill Russell calling us over to a some trout he had eating we finished our limit with the largest measuring at 22 inches. Lynn and Mike wanted to move on to something else for the last half hour of their trip so we pulled anchor and headed to one of my snook spots. We anchored up and threw out a handfull of shiners and a couple minutes later had the rods bending. Lynn and Mike had not caught a snook in over ten years so it was great to see them fight some to the boat. They finished the day off with a half dozen catches and a couple slot size snook throwing the hook.
