Good to be back on the water

Capt. John McDow
April 2, 2012
Port St. Joe - Saltwater Fishing Report

Its been a while since my last report. My boat was out of the water last week for maintenance. This week we were back on the water and the fishing was good, when we weren't dodging thunderstorms. The water temp was up to 73-74 degrees and the trout and redfish bite was good. There were fewer spanish mackerel and bluefish caught this week. A lot of sharks have moved into the bay and we had several good fish eaten right at the boat. The trout and redfish were caught on black and gold yo-zuris and red/gold sure-ketch curly tails. The best fishing has been in the diaman'o hole area and in the deep water flats just North of Blacks Island.
