Grouper at the snapper hole

Capt. Mark Rosen
November 29, 2017
Port St. Lucie - Saltwater Fishing Report

I took a father and son out to the snapper hole. It has been tough finding days that are calm enough to fish. The seas were 2 to 3 but very close together I had to slow down to 12knotts to avoid pounding and reduce the amount of splash the winds were 10 to 15 knots out of the north the snapper hole is north east of Fort Pierce inlet 12 miles sea temp at the inlet was 74 degrees at the snapper hole it was 78 degrees. Water was nice and clear there was a lot of weed scattered in the area. We were using cut squid and once we got some grunts cut grunt. We caught a few nice trigger fish and some yellow tail and Lane snapper on the chicken rigs. We also had single hook on 6 foot leader with grunt heads we caught 2 grouper on those, both were just under legal size and were released. I also put a live grunt on top on a float which got us a sail fish.
