Fishing report for Sanibel week ending 5/9/09,Tarpon are in full swing and with them lots of sharks. On trips this week off the beaches we have been averaging two catches a day with 5-6 hookups. We are finally geting into a summer pattern with the water temperature up to 83 degrees. There have been a suprising number of smaller tarpon in the 50-80 lb. range which is great because you can land one in around 20 minutes. There are lots of small sharks Hammerheads from 3-6 ft. and Blacktips around 3 ft. I have seen more Hammerheads than in years past. I also saw one on a school of fish that was about 15 ft.
