Sarasota - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing was good once again this week in Sarasota. Water temperatures dropped a few degrees down to the lower-mid 80s and baitfish are still abundant on the flats. Clients on fishing charters in Sarasota landed snook, speckled trout to 5 pounds, bluefish to 4 pounds, Spanish mackerel to 3 pounds, mangrove snapper, jack crevelle, gag grouper, and ladyfish. Chumming grass flats in 6' of water produced well at the Radio Tower, Middlegrounds, and Marina Jack flats. Snook and jack crevelle were found along mangrove shorelines near the passes and hit live bait and shallow diving plugs.
