Steady bite in Sarasota after cold front

Capt. Jim Klopfer
February 6, 2021
Sarasota - Saltwater Fishing Report

The week started off cool and quite breezy, with temperatures dipping into the upper 30's. It was Thursday before it was nice enough to get out. The bite was steady, despite water temperatures of 58. Sheepshead hit shrimp around structure, permit and pompano took jigs in Big Pass, and jigs fooled trout and Spanish mackerel on the deep flats. A river trip on Friday was slow, the water was 59 degrees, but we did catch one decent snook on a Gulp jerk bait.
