Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

We finally had a nice, sunny day—with minimal winds—so our friends Rick Pino and Jack Balme joined me for a trip, starting out mid-morning in the Sebastian Inlet during a slack tide. We were baited up with pinfish and made a few drifts in the Inlet, landing an 8-lb. grouper which was photographed and released. After a few more passes we got a 15-pound redfish, which was also released. As the tide starting running we changed our tackle and moved beyond the Inlet and found schools of bluefish; they hit bucktails and other lightweight lures. We also hooked into a few Spanish mackerel.
On the way back we made a few stops in the Indian River, finishing off the day with some trout, jacks and catfish.
Water temps have finally warmed up to 65-68, explaining the appearance of so many fish after so long a winter.
