Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report
Today I fished again with Rick Pino–picking up about two dozen pinfish before we made our way toward the Sebastian Inlet. It was very rough, with a rushing middle tide–mixed with a northeasterly wind; seas were 8-10 feet. On our first pass we hooked into two jacks, losing one and landing a 10-pounder. Because conditions were so rough we returned to the Indian River to wait a couple of hours before returning to the Inlet.
We did very well in the river, with trout up to 19″ as well as smaller jacks, ladyfish, sail cats and more. The fish are definitely back after a dismal winter.
We made the right call because when we returned to the Inlet, the waters were calmer. We landed six large jacks–with one weighing more than 20 pounds.
Our Florida stay will shortly be drawing to a close; we're returning to Norwalk CT the first week of May and will begin fishing on Long Island Sound shortly thereafter.
