Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

We went out late this morning with local angling buddy, Rick Pino, and his houseguest, Ed Jones of Verona, VA--in hopes of finding large jacks and redfish in the Sebastian Inlet.
While netting some bait we were surprised when a large Spanish mackerel came in along with the pinfish. Before setting out for the Inlet, we tried the Indian River, where we got lots of sea trout, jacks and ladyfish. We then moved to the Inlet and live-lined our bait, which was quickly taken by some bluefish 3-5 pounds, followed by some jack crevelle. We next hooked into a monster redfish that kept us busy for almost half an hour. Ed took about 25 minutes fighting the red on 20-pound-test line, and Rick had to help bring it over the side, where the fish was photographed and quickly released.
Our scale wasn't strong enough, but we think the huge red weighed just shy of 50 pounds.
It was a great day of fishing for all of us.
