Two days on the Mosquito Lagoon

Capt. Jim Jereb
May 16, 2010
Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

This is my first chance to sit down and write about my trip to the Mosquito Lagoon. The wind was blowing 15 out of the southeast both days and we could not fish south of the Haulover Canal due to the Shuttle launch, but as usual the Lagoon offered us some very good fishing. We fished day one on the east side flats in a foot of water and had a good day with slot sized Reds using root beer colored tubes. Day two we fished the edge of the flat in two to three feet of water and caught Trout all morning long up to four lbs. on electric chicken paddle tail grubs. We only caught one Red on the edge but it was a beauty. We took a ride to Haul over Canal in the afternoon to watch the launch. From there it is an unobstructed view of the launch pad. What a spectacular sight.

Sebastian Fishing Forecast:

Back fishing Sebastian area this week and looking forward to some Tarpon in the river. The early morning top water bite should really be getting good for all the usual suspects.

More Fishing Reports:

I'm Capt Jim Jereb with flat feat charters and I specialize in light tackle fishing around the Sebastian Inlet area including the beautiful Sebastian River and Indian River Lagoon. I'm all about catching fish and having fun. I charge less because I'd probably be out on the water anyway. Pros and novices will all have a great time, and go home with some great pictures and memories. Night fishing trips also available.
