THOSE WINDS JUST WON'T QUIT....

Capt. Sal Tardella
December 27, 2008
Sebastian - Saltwater Fishing Report

We sailed at 11am this morning, with comfortable temps, but persistent SW winds 10-20 throughout the trip. Because the winds have been with us for four days, the water levels were extremely low.

Aboard were Mark Francis of Sebastian, Harvey Luther of Jacksonville, and Bob Wright of Galveston TX.

We began the trip working around oyster beds, where two nice keeper trout were brought over the side. They had to be released because trout season doesn't begin until January 1. We also got into jacks and some silver trout at that spot. We then moved towards the flats bordering on the Inlet and scored with more trout, including one keeper size, and more jacks. We also saw some pompano skipping the surface, but no one hooked into any.

Fishing was difficult because of the winds, which also made for some wet clothing, but everyone kept tight lines for most of the charter.
