Beach snook and tarpon - It feels good to be home. I have been to New Mexico for the last month. We then drove back to Florida and made a stop in the New Smyrna Beach area. The Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon area are beautiful.

Snook Season Opens - This is the first week of snook season and it's been pretty quiet here in Chokoloskee.
I expected hundreds of boats on the water, but after fishing this week with Gil Drake,we didn't see that many.

SW FL prospects improving - Snook Season came in with somewhat of a whimper.
Several tournaments (Mac Flats) had low numbers.
One dynamic effecting the snook fishing is the current moon phase. Most fish are dining under the moonlight and taking a seista during the day.
