Staying out of the wind fishing report

Capt. Chris Herrera
March 23, 2009
St. Augustine - Saltwater Fishing Report

Today was to windy to fish the flats for Redfish so I headed for wind protected areas in the creeks in search of Redfish, Trout and Snook.

First spot yeilded some Trout on live shrimp and Daiichi Circle hooks and bb split shot. With little action we headed to another creek hole and caught our first season Snook on a live shrimp and jig combo.

It was time for some Reds but first we had to stop and pick up some lady fish for bait. We got caught up with the ladyfish and Rat Reds for a while before we headed to the Redfish lands armed with ladyfish chunks. We pitched the steaks along oyster beds that brought two nice Reds to the skiff.
