Last half of January

Capt. George Welcome
February 1, 2010
Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

The last half of January saw much better temperatures although it was a bit breezy.

Kenansville continued to produce good bites with lots of big fish. The best bait choice for the heavy hydrilla that was fishing in was the Senko and Swimming Senko although other plastics did work, just not as well.

Five trips out there were all successful with the high day of 49 bass with two over ten pounds to a low day of 10 bass. In excess of 150 bass made their way to the boat will all be released in good health.

Stick Marsh-Farm 13 Fishing Forecast:

February is looking good on Stick Marsh/Farm 13 as the ladies are starting to move from the ditches on Farm 13 to areas of pre-spawn. It should be a good month as long as we don't get killed by the weather.

Target Species:

LM Bass
