Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Brian Keener from Michigan went with Scott on the 27th and using artificial baits they landed over 20 bass in the boat including one over 10 pounds and another at 7 pounds.
Using top water baits only, (chug bugs), they worked the north end of the Farm. Anywhere the water was clean and there was hydrilla, there were bass.
Tim Wilson and group from Virginia went with Scott on the 28th and fishing artificial baits again on the Farm they landed 17 bass to about 6.5 pounds. Again, the bait of choice was the chug bug. Working both the north and south ends of the Farm east of the center ditch produced the catch today.
Dan Corbett and group from Michigan went with Scott on the 29th and fished artificial baits. The wind blew strong all day but they still managed to get 15 bass. Using some top water and rattletraps in the south end of the Farm and a short while on the north end produced these bass. With my boat laid up with power head problems I had to send Jim Buckler and son out with another guide that pitched in to help and there results with shiners was the same.
The same groups were back on the 30th for another go at the Farm but the weather just wasn’t going to cooperate. Thunderstorms were rolling through one after another. Waiting them out at the ramp they finally got to launch at about 8:00 but the trip was to be short lived. While going for the shiners that everyone opted for that day the Yamaha on our Hewes decided it was time to act up and another boat was destined for the repair shop. However, it didn’t hurt the fishing as the storms started rolling back in.
For all of the artificial fishing that we have been doing, the best bait has been top water and the best location has been areas east of the center N/S ditch. Water levels have come up dramatically with the rain that we got which will help make the navigation safer, but still be cautious out there and have a great day.
