Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Water Temperature: 78

Water Clarity: 6 inches

Let me take a moment to wish all our friends and patrons the best for this holiday season. May you all be blessed with family and friends as I am. Today was a day of rest for us as the family came together to celebrate Easter and life is just fantastic.

I would also like to thank all of our clients to date and the tremendous support we get from this page. Scott and I have taken 112 trips out on the Marsh so far this year and we have met a lot of fantastic people, plus had a lot of previous friends back to go for a little of that Stick Marsh magic.

Yesterday, the 30th, Jack and Craig came back for their final day on the Marsh and a grand day it would be. They showed up "loaded for bear" with their Senkos already wacky rigged and immediately put them to work. Returning to the same area that we had fished for three days straight the performance was repeated again and again. We didn't do as well numbers wise today as we only boated 61 bass but Craig was able to outdo the catch from the day before with a 9 pound 7 ounce bass. I had to hide my Boga Grip after weighing the fish because Craig was jealously eying it.

Again, the key was slow and repetitive working of the same area. The area we are working has wood and grass in abundance and the bass just love the enviornment.

See ya out there. Feel free to email us if you have any questions. Also, out web page is updated frequently and has a lot of good info so be sure to drop by from time to time.

Just a quick reminder before I close: We are seeing more and more evidence of the shad. This year should be a banner year for the topwater bite and April, May, and June are all-day topwater days. You don't need much more than a rod and some chug bugs to easily catch a lot of big fish. Be sure to book early if this seems to be something you would like to try because although we have openings now they will fill in quickly as the word spreads.

George & Scott Welcome are full time guides and full time fishermen on Stick Marsh/Farm 13. Our goal is to share these fantastic areas and our love for the sport. Two boats allow us to accommodate to six people. Contact us; you will be glad you did!
