Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Date Fished: 6/1/02
Water Temperature: 88
Water Clarity: 0
Fishing this week was difficult due to a complete change in weather. The heat index rose quite a bit, the wind dropped off completely, and the fishing was just a tad more difficult.
However, if you can weather the weather, and keep on casting you will come up with bass. The producing bait this week for us was almost exclusively plastic and the best rig was the Carolina rig.
The best production came on the west side of the farm on the 1st N/S ditch, with bass coming from the entire length of the ditch. We found no heavy concentration but there were more on the S end of the ditch.
There was some shad busting going on but we never seemed to be in the right location to take advantage of it. By the time we would get to the area nothing would bring the bass off of their spot.
For now, keep hitting the ditch edges, watch for current, either wind or pump house generated, and think positive. Keep your bait in the water and you will get fish. Remember to have plenty of liquid to drink, lots of sun protection, and enthusiasm. With those ingredients you will have a great day on the Marsh.
See you out there.
