Water levels are up slightly and will probably make a good gain over the next couple of days. A tropical depression headed our way is expected to bring us a fair amount of rain over the next two or three days.
The weatherman forecasted 70% chance of rain and winds 15 to 20 with occassional gusts. However the need to wet a line was strong so off we went to the Marsh. We fished from 7:30 until 1:30 and there was nary a dribble, nor did the wind ever get here. As a matter of fact the water was glass.
The fish were willing to answer to all the usual plastics that we throw on Carolina rigs and we found them in all the usual summer hangouts. North ends of the ditches produced well. We also found the pump on the east wall running and worked that very successfully for a short while.
We had the lake to ourself today with the exception of three other boats. I guess the weather kept them away. If you are coming this way expect good fishing on the Farm side and expect to throw plastics. We have been doing our thing with several different plastics except for the pump house area today. Senkos reigned supreme for that area and dark colors were the answer.
See you on the water.
