Stick Marsh & Farm 13

Capt. George Welcome
June 27, 2002
Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

The bass continue to slam Senkos on Stick Marsh/Farm 13. They will definitely hit other baits, but your catch ratio is much higher with the Senkos.

Starting out at 6:15 Scott left with his party and headed for the pump house. Brian and John were looking to at least duplicate yesterday’s catch and they were in for a real Stick Marsh treat. With the Farm pumping water as fast as they could the bass were anxious to take advantage with the ensuing food bonanza. If you presented your bait in the right spot there was a bass ready to take it with enthusiasm. As long as it was a Senko it was gobbled instantly. There catch today using the Senkos on a Carolina rig was 157 bass to 5.5 pounds.

I fished today on the customer’s boat, which threw a lot of people that know me for a loop as they went by us. I had out Chris Centafont and his son Blake and Chris had a brandy new Triton 21. We also had a follow boat today with friends of Chris on board. We never got past the cut into the Stick Marsh. The bass were raring to go and it took no time to convert Chris and party to the outrageous superiority of the Senko. I had extra bags and after trying with worms and getting the occasional bite they decided to tie one on. I think it might have had something to do with the amount of fish biting my line in comparison to theirs. By days end it was off to the bait and tackle store to stock up on Senkos for tomorrow. The Carolina rig, the Senkos, and correct placement contributed to the 103 bass that came into our boat. I have no idea how many the fellows got on the other boat but they were hauling them in fast and furious.

If you want to catch a lot of bass now is the time. We anticipate the current to be running for some time to come. I had friends that went to the spillway and did great and other friends in other spots that did fantastic. The fish are active and more than willing to play. Give us a call.

See you on the water. Oh, by the way, Middleton’s carry the Senkos at the Stick Marsh Bait and Tackle, but after selling 50-70 bags this week we hope her order comes in quick.
