Stick Marsh-Farm 13 - Freshwater Fishing Report

Submitted by George, Imagination Bassin Guide Services

Date Fished: 7/6/02

Water Temperature: 80

Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

I would like to apologize to Natasha & David Greeber for the misspelling of their last name in my last report. I hit the "v" instead of the "b".

July 4th for us was celebrated with Mark Colvin and his father Dave on my boat and Matthew Smith and Tom Smith. I hve to admit that I missed any fireworks that night as the bed just looked to good to me at an early hour. We set up both boats in the spillway area of the Farm and as would be expected the fishermen and the bass had a ball. Both boats had over 80 bass each up to 5 pounds.

July 5th Scott had Dan Hunt and friend Henry Aertuch on for a 1/2 day with shiners. We don't get many shiner trips this time of the year and the results weren't much different than the artificial and the Carolina rigs. 32 bass were caught in the vicinity of the spillway.

Yesterday I had out a couple of friends for a 1/2 day of Carolina rigging in the current and we landed 52 bass to 5 pounds. Today I get to clean the boats in preparation for this weeks trips.

Most people fishing the Marsh are doing exceptionally well with a great deal finding current and working it well. We did note a few running hither and yon but most had patience to stay with the current and wait for the bass to cooperate. The weather has been pretty good although hot and humid with rains coming in the afternoon. Be careful out there and pay attention to the incoming storms as they can get quite hazardous.

See you on the water. Say hi when you get the chance.
