Great Local Fishing: Cobia, Snapper, Grouper

Capt. Nick Cremasco
August 29, 2016
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

Rod bending action continues to happen on local fishing charters. The bottom has been consistent with amberjack to 50lbs, snapper to 20lbs, grouper, cobia, sea bass, triggerfish and more! The rods have stayed bent for the most part ok the bottom all week with some great eating fish making it into the fish box on the DayMaker!

Surface fishing has slowed a little from the previous couple of weeks sailfish action. We did see a couple sailfish during the week and also jumped a fish off on Wendesday. I would expect another good push of Sailfish in September. Fishing for kingfish and rod bending bonito Has been very good on the inshore reef. And there has been plenty of Blackfin tuna on the offshore humps and although they are small (under 10lbs) they are very tasty!

September is also a great month for swordfish and if you are interested in knocking that fish off your bucket list September is a great month for sword fishing!
