Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report
Not a lot has changed over the past few weeks. Pompano remain scattered in the Sailfish Flats and around the Stuart Causeway. A mixture of blue runners, ladyfish, jacks and a few bonefish have been bending the rods also in these areas. Bouncing trollrites and shrimp along with Capt. Joes Jigging Spoons in yellow and white or pink have been working best.
In the St. Lucie Inlet, sheepshead have been in the crossroads area in 14 feet. A few pompano and bluefish to three pounds here too but mostly blue runners and leaping ladys. The south side along the shoreline has been most productive with a few snook, flounder, jacks and our first sennet of the year.
Under the docks in the St. Lucie River, mangrove snapper and sheepshead on frozen shrimp and small snook on Gulp shrimp. The ten cent bridge has been holding some pompano, mangrove snapper and croaker but the black drum bite has been off for a while.
Have not fished north of the Jensen Causeway in a week but will give it a try shortly.
