Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report
July 17:
Today we fished with the guys that purchased a full day charter donation to the Kyle Conrad Charity. We had to cut the trip short by an hour and a half because of weather but we had fair fishing before that. We caught some decent sized mangrove snapper to 6lbs and a 25lb Cobia. As well we caught a 30lb Amberjack and released some True Genuine Red Snapper.
July 18:
Today we fished with Kurt and his guest for opening day of this weekend's Red Snapper season. We had great bottom fishing today catching a limit of Genuine Red Snapper to 15lbs, some mangrove snapper to 6lbs, vermillion snapper, triggerfish, seabass, porgies, almaco jacks and a couple of 20-25lb Gag Groupers. We had some diverse conditions today and lost a lot of fish by the time it was all said and done but we pieced it together and all the guys went home with a pile of fish.
July 19:
Today we fished our local fishing charter out of Stuart FL with Andrew and Max. We enjoyed great weather for most of the day and decent fishing. We caught a limit of Amberjack to 30lbs, a limit of Genuine Red Snapper as well a 17lb Gag grouper and a 30lb Cobia. Fishing wasn't lock n load but we did miss a few on top of the fish that were put in the box.
July 19:
Today Capt. Ian fished a full day fishing charter on the big boat catching a couple of decent size mahi and a 35lb wahoo. They also bent the rod on some bottom fish. If you are interested we have a 61' Sportfish called the Outlaw available for charter.
July 19:
Today was day two of red snapper season for the regulars aboard DayMaker fishing charters. We had an action packed day catching 4 nice size Gag Grouper to 25lbs, Genuine red snapper, a couple of Cobia to 30lbs, Amberjack, Almaco Jacks, Sea Bass, and triggers. A full day of bottom fishing Stuart Fl.
July 21:
Today we fished with Patrick Gee and his friends from California and Melbourne Florida. We enjoyed great conditions and fun fishing today. We caught Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Vermillion Snapper and Genuine Red Snapper. We also boxed a 18lb Grouper, a 40lb Cobia and released another cobia boatside. We caught some triggers, sea bass, blue runners, and bonito as well.
July 22:
Today we took a group of regulars on a planned two day tuna fishing trip. Unfortunately despite the great weather forecast we ran into some weather issues. The forecast for the days leading up to the trip was for SE winds of 5-10 knots. But when we arrived on the tuna grounds the winds were in the 10-15 more like steady 15 knots out of the South. As well there was a 2-3 knot South current and a NE swell. Man it was like a washing machine and at times we battled 6-8ft seas.
Despite the seas and the rain we were able to catch some nice fish on our shortened trip. We caught 4 Yellowfin tuna from 40-77lbs and a handful of Blackfin and a 25lb Skipjack Tuna. We also missed a blue marlin a couple of times on a lure while trolling around.
