Fishing Report for Indian River & St. Lucie River - Offshore

Capt. Kevin Drennan
November 21, 2006
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

The dolphin have been biting out of the St. Lucie inlet this week. Many boats have been bringing home some tasty filets for the grill along with some wahoo and king fish. The SKA national tournament was held this week out of Fort Pierce. Several kings in the upper forties made it to the scales. The sailfish bite has been decent but the best is yet to come. The fish are still further north but are getting thicker every day. The Spanish mackerel fishing is really picking up south of the inlet. At times they are holding the bottom so let your lure sink before you retrieve. The bridges are still holding big snook and they are being caught on both live bait and lures. The Palm city bridge has been red hot at night. Cast out into the lights and retrieve back into the shadow line. The canals in North River Shores are loaded with mullet. They are being pounded by big jacks during the day and big snook at night. We had a 38 inch snook last night on a big rebel plug. Bluefish and Spanish mackerel are in the surf. The weather is calling for high winds and rough seas through Thanksgiving so get out while you can. More later.
