Stuart Redfish Bite

Capt. Bob Bushholz
January 24, 2018
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

The redfish bite the past 5 years seems to get stronger and stronger. Lots of slot sized reds (18" - 27") since September with a few up to 33". With the water warming up from our recent cold snap, look for more redfish around area bridges and inlets. Their cousins black drum will be around too.

Pompano is picking up in the St. Lucie Inlet and should be in full swing along with Spanish mackerel as we head into February. Tripletail should start chewing again with warmer water around. For a week here the water temps were mid to upper 50's, which slows the action down in South Florida. We are back to mid-60's to low 70's which is ideal here this time of year.
