Big Tripletail around Town

Capt. Bob Bushholz
December 7, 2017
Stuart - Saltwater Fishing Report

We're finally starting to see some large tripletail here in the Stuart area. Since Thanksgiving we have landed several close to 20 lbs. and should continue through December. We recently caught a rare keeper grouper at 28" with the majority inshore being juveniles. Pompano and Spanish mackerel catches are on the rise and should get better through the new year. Have not fished outside near Peck's Lake yet this season but normally by January the mack bite really picks up. I like to throw Gulfstream glass minnow jigs at them in green color. Love to make smoked mackerel dip.

Snook are still in the inlet with more fat snook showing up. We did have a nice 29" slot fish last week. Snook season closed December 15th.
