Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The big fish are chewing in Tampa Bay. If it's tarpon, snook, or just big numbers you're after, it's the right time of year to go fishing.
Tarpon have made their way to Tampa Bay and the bite is on fire. Schools of tarpon, in all sizes, are aplenty throughout our local coastal environment. These magnificent fish are powerful, explosive, and acrobatic fighters that have great stamina. Growing to lengths of 8 feet and weighting more than 240 pounds, it is easy to see why it is one of the most sought after challenging and exciting nearshore sportfish.
Tarpon are not the only big fish biting. The size and numbers of snook we've been catching have been unbelievable. Snook are cold blooded animals so they become very active when the water temperature is warm. It is great to see so many great snook after the 2010 cold kill. The cold kill affected the population number of the fish dramatically. Much like tarpon, these fish have a great all around fighting ability that usually includes several runs and a few jumps.
Are you looking to catch a mess of fish to bring home to eat or to just make some good memories on the water? Book your trip this summer with castawaychartersinc.com and we will make it happen!
