Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hi folks, I'm not quite sure what to say about fishing Tampa Bay lately except what you catch depends directly on the weather. With temperatures very mild on most days and frigid on others the fishing has been all over the map. That being said we are catching a lot of fish every day.

I am still doing well with the redfish in Tampa Bay and other spots. when I find one I find a bunch it seems. This is a great time of year to throw soft plastics and redbone paddle tails have worked as well as anything. Big select shrimp will do the job as well.

On the trout front smaller fish are on the deeper grass flats and the larger are in canals, rivers, etc. Some days it's great and others not as good. Gulp shrimp in new penny will keep you bent when they are chewing.

I have been targeting jacks a lot recently with big schools moving around the flats. They are one of my very favorite fish. If you don't like catching jacks, then you have no business fishing. I have also been catching snook on Tampa Bay fly fishing charters http://tampaflatsfishingcharter.com/tampa-fly-fishing-charters/ .
