Big fish - light tackle - Tampa Bay!

Capt. TJ Stewart
October 18, 2011
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

If you want a great fight from a huge fish, book a charter and you will get just that. Just take a look at the attached picture. That is a great fish. In the past, we've caught these great big drum in the springtime in the Bay. This year, they are here now, on the flats in lower Tampa Bay. Hooking one of these 35 lb to 60 lb fish on 10lb tackle makes for a great fight.

The snook, redfish, and trout bite was on fire last week. Yes, we've had to deal with some pretty strong wind while catching these fish, but it was well worth it. Each day it is a different fish that is more aggressive and bites first. Most of the time, it's the redfish that moves in and takes the bait before the snook or trout can get it, but lately, that hasn't been the case. It is not a problem to catch a slam. We even managed to catch snook, redfish, trout, and flounder in a lure tournament a few weeks ago. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
