Fly fishing Tampa Bay Florida

Capt. Nick Angelo
January 18, 2013
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fly fishing the Tampa Bay area has been good over the past month. The weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year. The fishing seems to be more like spring. Snook and other fair weather fish seem to be showing on the flats. Redfishing remains consistent. A few cobia and big jacks show here and there. Now is the time to start thinking of tarpon season! Im looking forward to another great season fly fishing for big tarpon. Sure you can go catch some baby poons (to 50 pounds) elsewhere, and that's fun and all. But there is no place like Florida's gulf coast man size tarpon. Get out there and wet a line!
