Post TS Tarpon in Tampa Bay

Capt. Brandon Henley
September 9, 2016
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

After Tropical Storm Hermine passed I was back on the water in short order. I had three fly fishing trips in a row and we set off in search of late season tarpon. We found the fish quickly and got to work. After dusting off the cobwebs we were soon tight to a large tarpon. In three days we hooked 10 adult tarpon all on fly. I like to throw tan toads and EP peanut butter in purple and black early in the day. These late season tarpon eat extremely well. They are suckers for a well placed fly or a Mirrolure Mirrodine XL. Getting started at first light makes all the difference.
