Red October In Tampa Bay

Capt. Sean Hagen
September 4, 2009
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Its october and there here! Pigo-pon-o-mis size red fish have been sliding into the flats. These big dawgs are being caught on both sides of the bay.

Fish pot holes and oyster bars. Bait of choice live sardines or dead sticking chunks of threadfins. If artificals are your prefrence you cant go wrong with Gulp shrimp (penny color).

Capt. Jeremy Heimes and Capt. Mike Murray both
report slamming 30+ size reds on the St. Pete side of the Skyway bridge.look for moving water
on the flats.Keep your distance and make your casts to the out side of the school. These fish can be spooky at times so operate in stealth mode
and set up to where they will come to you.

Good luck and have a quality day on the water.
