Tampa Bay Fishing Report

Capt. TJ Stewart
November 8, 2005
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Really fishy!

Well where do I start? It is starting to warm back up that is fishy weather, water temp and the fishing. Well I can not say the fishing is just warming back up it is really awesome. The weather has been a little windy but it has not effected the fishing it has been a little rough catching bait, but we have had no trouble finding an area to get out of the wind and do some great fishing.

Let’s start with the Red fish. It sure has picked up. The biggest reason is the water temp is getting back up and the Red fish are eating the white baits again. Last week some of the Red fish that we caught were on artificial lures because the water temp was a little cold it was running about 65-68 degrees but this past week most places were 70-74 degrees which can make a big difference. We managed to catch Red fish each trip. The Red fish of the week was a 27 inch Red fish which gave us 3 rd place in the Manatee County construction fishing tournament.

Then we have the Snook. We definitely had no trouble finding these fish and getting them to eat. We had a lot of luck and managed to catch large numbers of these fish in short amounts of time. We had no trouble getting these fish into a frenzy where we were catching 2-3 fish at one time and at that rate numbers add up quick. We caught a lot of nice fish this past week we had 5-6 Snook that were in the 30 in. range with a number of fish that were just a little smaller. As you can see in the picture these guys had a great day of fishing. If you want to see pictures come visit www.castawaychartersinc.com.
