Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello fellow sportsmen, fall is in the air and we have finally had our first minor cool snap cooling us down just a little bit. The fishing has really been heating up inshore and offshore. Inshore the snook fishing is really fast action. Most of the snook are smaller 22 to 26 inches, but we are also getting a few keepers. The larger ones should start biting a little better soon as the water cools preparing for winter. The redfish have been very consistent as well, we have been limiting out on every trip with perfect eating size reds in the 23 to 26 inch class with a few too large to keep. The trout and mackerel have also been biting well, there are plenty of keeper size trout around and lots of good size eating mackerel mixed in. Really all in all the inshore fishing has been so good in the last few weeks I have to say some days it was hard to keep a hook in the water without getting a bite.
Offshore fishing is also starting to heat up with kings and little tunny mixed in together and should get better as the water cools a little more. There are also lots of grouper and snapper in the same areas. October is hands down one of my favorite months of the year. If you are looking for great fishing, great weather and light traffic, this is without a doubt the time to be out there.
Well I hope you have enjoyed the report. If you are interested in spending a day on the water with me send me an email or give me a call. If you are heading out on your own good luck and enjoy the fishing.
Capt. Matt
