Spring Fling For Snook & Reds In Tampa Bay!

Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well guys and gals the spring fling has finally
arrived. Water temps are back up in the mid 70s
and the snook and red fish bite is really picking
up!

Look for snook in the creek mouths and cuts
close to the flats. They are leaving their winter
haunts to fatten up on sardines and prepare for
their summer time spawn.

Believe me when I say the bite will soon be
off the chain! April and May have always been
my favorite months to catch quality size snook.
Breeder size she pigs stack up in the deep water
troughs adjacent to the flats. These big girls
are generaly hungrier than a starved greyhound
with two tape worms and ready to get their feed
on! Find your fish, some moving water , chum
it up with live sardines and let the party begin!

The redfish are on the flats. There have been
big size schools on the St. Pete side of the
Sky Way(around the keys). This area gets alot of
fishing pressure and the fish are often spooky.
They are best fished during the week when they
aren't worked so hard. Try using Gulp shrimp or
fresh cut bait and let the fish come to you.
Till next time have a safe and quality day on
the water.
