SUMMER TIME TAMPA BAY FISHING GETTING CRAZY!

Capt. TJ Stewart
June 2, 2010
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's a good thing that there is a cool breeze on the water because it sure did get real hot real quick. You might have to rest a few minutes in the shade after reeling in a big fish, but reeling in that fish makes enduring the heat well worth it!

Tarpon are in the areas that they should be in at this time of year, and the bite is on. There are many great tarpon now in Tampa Bay and Boca Grande. These fish are going to move around a bit with the next full moon, which should make tarpon fishing even more awesome. We have had some really big tarpon boat side over the past few weeks. We had more than one 175 pound fish next to the boat, and I can't even keep track of how many we hooked. We caught the biggest tarpon of the season (so far) in Boca Grande during the Professional Tarpon Tournament Series. The Professional Tarpon Tournament Series is a series of five tarpon tournaments in Boca Grande, FL.

Bay fishing has been great. As usual, the trout bite is phenomenal. We haven't seen much snook action lately, but we also haven't put much time into catching them. The tides have been great so we have caught many bull reds. This is just the beginning of a great summer fishing season. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
