Bring on the live bait! The water temperature is high enough to catch fish on live bait, and hopefully, it will stay that way. Of course, there might be some days that you've got to work a little harder to get good numbers of fish, but live bait is a plenty and the fish are eating it.

Can you say TARPON? Yes, tarpon are back in Tampa Bay. We have had a hard time catching bait that is big enough for these fish at certain times, but usually we catch all we need mixed in the net with the bait for the backwater fish. We have already caught some really nice fish this year! The biggest to date is a 125 pounder. Mostly, all the fish we've landed have been over 100 lbs, and it is just the beginning of the season.

If it's not tarpon you're after, the snook and redfish bite has been awesome. We are not only catching lots of fish, we are also catching big fish. As the season moves on, the snook and redfish bite should just continue to get better. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
