Capt. TJ Stewart
October 15, 2009
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

It is October, but it sure feels like August because the weather is still blazing hot. Hopefully, over the next couple of weeks it will cool down a bit. The fishing has been great, and although, it will change when the cooler weather comes our way, it should continue to be awesome.

We have started catching some bigger snook the last few weeks. The snook are starting to move from the beaches and deeper water back into the bays. Maybe they know that that cooler weather is on its way. Many fish are showing up around the flats and rivers lately, and if you have the right bait, tide, wind, and luck, you can catch them.

Tarpon, tarpon, and more tarpon! If you want to catch a tarpon, you can definitely do it right now. Although I haven't fished much for tarpon, others that have say it is on fire. This year is proving to have a really great fall tarpon bite.

Redfishing has been phenomenal. We have caught some great fish. Not only have the numbers of redfish been good, but so have the size of them. Redfishing, much like tarpon fishing should remain good throughout the fall season. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and see some great pictures and book your trip today!
