Tampa Bay Fishing Report for June 6, 2014
Mangrove Snappers, Black Drum, Flounder and a few Pompano have been landed while using the bridge for some shade to beat the afternoon heat.
The Snappers and Flounder were taking Live Greenbacks and cut pieces. The Drum were caught on half of a Blue Crab and Shrimp. The Doc's Goofy jigs landed a few keeper Pompano for the dinner plate.
With the help of a Chum block along with adding some cut bait to the mix for Sharks & Spanish Mackerel has keep the rods bent in the morning hours.
Starting to see some nice size Trout making there way back onto the flats.
Cobia have been spotted around the markers and bridge. Have a pinfish rigged when checking the markers.
Next weeks strong afternoon outgoing tides should have the Tarpon bite on fire. The Tampa Bay area has one of the finest Tarpon Fishing to be found in Florida. Tampa Bay offers one of the best opportunities to catch Tarpon averaging 50 to 125 pounds, With Trophy catches in the 150 pound class.
