Tampa Bay Fishing Report June 29, 2014
Starting the mornings this last week with air temperatures in the 80's and water temps running 84° to start the day heating up to 88° in the afternoon, We have found the Spotted Sea Trout in the 2 - 5 foot range on the cooler incoming water.
I'm finding the Redfish on the higher water along the Mangrove shore line. Moving water is the key to landing them.
If you are lucky enough to find the right size white bait and a having your bait well full, Chumming an area will get the Snook bite to turn on. An assorted size of Snook 14 to 28 inch range were caught and released quickly.
As the temperatures climbs up to the 90° mark we have moved to the bridges for some shade and Mangrove Snappers. Onboard this week with anglers Mike & his 13 year old grandson Julian who caught his share of Mangrove Snapper for his dinner along with a few Black Sea Bass keep the young man happy and his rod bent.
Had 2 Shark anglers onboard the week which ended up being a mix Tarpon/Shark trip. Several Tarpon in the 75 pound class were jumped. Lots of Blacktips and Bull Sharks have been landed on the outgoing afternoon tides on whole and cut Ladyfish and Mullet.
