Tampa Bay fishing is strong!

Capt. TJ Stewart
September 1, 2012
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Despite the recent inclement weather that we've had in Tampa Bay, fishing has been outstanding. The bad weather did cause the fish to move around a bit, but it didn't change their appetite. The fish are biting well. In fact, fishing has been so good that it almost feels like fall. Although the water temperature only dropped a mere 5 degrees, it helped with the bite.

Fishing is going to get better and better over the next few months. In fact, fall is one of my favorite times of the year to fish because the fishing is so good and there aren't as many people on the water. I can tell fall is right around the corner because of all the nice snook we caught last week. We caught a number of them that were over 30 inches. The fall bite is going to be a great one between all the redfish moving in, the snook bite, and the great trout bite.

The Bay is going to be on fire.
Although the tarpon are moving around, they have still been biting. Each tarpon trip we've managed to hook a few tarpon and get them boat side for a great picture. While fishing for tarpon we've also caught grouper, snapper, mackerel, and sharks. Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
