Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report
Snook, reds , and trout are all chewing well
on Tampa flats despite high water temps.
Manatee County is producing good fish. We have
been hooking quality snook, reds , and trout on
the grass flats in one to four feet of water. Try
deadsticking chunks of ladyfish or strips of
pinfish for big snook. The snook have been
ranging from 20" to over 30".
Redfish caught in same potholes as snoook.
Bait of choice would be live sardines or cut
pinfish. Redfish ranging from 20" to over slot.
The trout haven't been huge but we have been
managing to catch a few in the 20" range. Trout
are hitting popping cork with live sardine or
D.O.A. shrimp. These fish are caught in the
grass and on the edge of potholes.
Expect all species to feed more aggresively
as temperatures cool and fish complete
transitions to fall time haunts.
Till next time have a safe and quality
day on the water. "Fishing like a pro" with
EUPRO.
