Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report
The fishing and the weather has broken loose! The fishing has been awesome since the weather has gotten warmer. Keep reading and you will see what I mean. Over the past week, we have got to get out and do a lot of fishing all times of day… morning, mid day, and late afternoon and all the trips have been good. Everyone has been asking me when the best time to go fishing is, and lately it's good any time. I'm ready to do some night fishing to see if it is good then too.
Where do I start…? Snook, Red fish, really great Trout fish, or Tarpon? That's right they're here!!! I will start with the big Silver Kings. I haven't had anybody that has wanted to go fishing for these great fish lately. They are around and there is plenty of great bait to catch them - the most bait that I've seen in years. We did manage to get out there two weeks ago and hook three Tarpon and boat one. Hopefully we will get a chance to get out there some time this week and hook a few more.
Some mornings we started off catching some great Trout. I mean we've caught Trout with a lot of fish mixed in with them such as, Mackerel, Jacks, Blue fish, Grouper, and a few others. It's a good thing to see these big Trout with the Red tide the past two years. It has moved a lot of these fish around, but I think they're back and they came with some good size.
I can't say if it has been better fishing for the Snook or the Red fish. Over the past week, we haven't had much trouble finding a very good bite and catching big numbers of fish that are big in size. I have had a few people on Snook trips catch some fish that were some very nice trophy fish! As long as you spend a little time getting in place to fish for these great fish you can get some great catches. The biggest thing with the Red fish lately has been patience with the fish… let the tide and or the wind do some of the work for you and then get ready for a bite of a life time. Come visit
