Tampa Bay Inshore Grouper Fishing

Capt. Sean Hagen
August 26, 2012
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Tampa Bay grouper bite has remained steady.
There has certainly been no shortage of keeper size gags around the bridges and shipping channels.

Trolling plugs or 8oz. jigs will surely bring some nice gags boat size, but nothing beats a live pinfish, grunt, strategically placed lady fish.

The dolphins at the Skyway Bridge have been holding some decent gags. On recent charters we have been icing down gags from 22-30+ inches.

Free lining big pinfish around structure has been the ticket; try adding some lead when the tide starts to rip. A big bait will catch ya that big Gag!
