Tampa Bay weather not going to stop fishing!

Capt. TJ Stewart
June 30, 2011
Tampa Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

Tampa Bay was wet and soggy last week. It rained, rained, and rained almost every afternoon and a few of the mornings. All the rain sure helped cool things down a bit, including the water temperature. The water temperature dropped from the 90's down to the lower 80's.

There are many changes happening in the Bay right now. Not only is the water temperature dropping drastically, we are also beginning to see summer baits. The summer bite is about to be hot! Although redfish in the Bay right now can be hard to come by, we have been catching a bunch on the right tides. More redfish should begin to show up with all this rain.

The snook bite has been good on some of the big out going tides. We managed to put a number of great fish on the boat last week. Some days with the wrong tides the snook fishing can be tough with the warmer summer waters. With the small bait showing up and the water temperature dropping; we will start seeing these fish really start to go crazy!

The tarpon bite has been a little crazy lately; we've started every morning off by jumping a tarpon or six! What a great way for a fisherman to start his day! Please visit www.castawaychartersinc.com and book your trip today!
